We have been trying to get this ride together all summer. What started out as three couples turned into 14 riders on 11 machines! It was chilly, but we were prepared. The rain that we have had all week made for some awesome puddles. Mud on helmet ~ good!
Despite some snow, both on the ground and freshly falling, we did get to Independence, a mining ghost town from around the turn of the century. We grabbed snacks and ate in the shelter of an old cabin while Dan fixed the broken shifter on his machine.
We all made it back down to the trucks, where the sun was shining, of course. (I did not say that it was warm!)
I am tired and a little stiff from the 60 mile ride, but we had a great time.
